Classic eggs, Organic Brown eggs, Free Range Country eggs - Available @ Confused about the different kinds of eggs in the market? Let’s break it down for you.

Classic eggs

The good old white-shelled egg is laid by white-feathered chickens. It is perhaps the most popular kind of egg in the market and this is because breeding and raising these chickens is easier and cheaper than its brown-feathered counterparts.

Brown eggs

Brown-shelled eggs are laid by brown-feathered chickens and often are thought to be organic simply because of their colour. This is a misconception- if these brown-feathered chickens were fed inorganic feed then their eggs would not be organic.

Country eggs

Country eggs are considered to be slightly healthier because country hens are generally reared free-range with access to large open natural spaces with fresh air and sunlight. Country eggshells are thicker and so they do not crack easily.

Kadaknath eggs

Kadaknath or Kali Masi, an Indian breed of chicken is a black coloured fowl mostly found in Dhar and Jhabua in Madhya Pradesh and adjoining districts in Gujarat and Rajasthan. These eggs are said to have a lower fat content and higher amino acids and protein content.

While differences in their health benefits are minute, you should try them all out to see which one you like best!
